AK-Zinc Phosphate Primer, grey

One-pack alkyd resin-based primer. Fast drying and anti-corrosive. Chromate and lead-free. Universally applicable.

Field of Application

Renitherm® Primer AK 2 is specially designed for the Renitherm fire protective system on steel
Can be used as a shop primer (suitable for flame cutting and weldable)
as a normal primer at 40 μm DFT or high build primer at 80 μm DFT

Application

​

  • Surface Preparation:  Shotblasting to Sa 2 1/2

  • Application temperature:  +5 °C

  • Humidity: 80% RH

  • Material preparation:  Stir thoroughly. Thinner should be added acc. to the requirements  as follows:

- brushing/rolling:  40–80 μm up to 5 % Renitherm Thinner

- air spraying: 20 μm 10–20 % Renitherm Thinner  

- airless spraying: 20 μm 10–20 % Renitherm Thinner at 40–80 μm up to 5 % Renitherm Thinner

Drying Time

​

  • Touch dry － 10 minutes at 20 μm 20 minutes at 40 μm

  • Overcoatable － 1–2 hours at 40 μm 8 hours at 80 μm
